Rome, 12 October 2024 - For the symposium "Political Love and Synodal Church", the Vatican Foundation Fratelli Tutti hosted at the Pontifical Urban University, in Rome, a selection of artworks by Italian artist Marcello Silvestri, inspired to the Beatitudes, God's mercy and the parable of the Good Samaritan. These paintings and drawings of contemporary sacred / religious art belong to Silvestri's figurative phase and were painted in the 1990s.

Above "Attesa di Grazie" (Italian for "waiting for Mercy") on the left and, on the right, a representation of three significant Parables of the Gospel that especially embody the notion of divine Mercy: the Prodigal Son, The Good Shepherd, the Good Samaritan. This is the kind of reciprocal love and care that ideally should nourish our communities and polities.
