Immigration and refugees

Marcello Silvestri has made numerous collaborations during the period 2016-17 on the issues of migration and refugees.

• The latest collaboration is with the Centro Astalli in Rome, part of the international network of the Jesuit Refugee Service

• His work, "Shipwreck", on immigrants who died in the Mediterranean, has been used in research seminars at the University of Cambridge - at the Von Hügel Institute and the Centre for the Study of Global Human Movement (formerly called "Cammigres ") - and on the poster for the presentation of the 2016 Immigration Statistical Dossier, in collaboration with Idos, Confronti and the Community of Sant'Egidio.

• Silvestri’s The Good Samaritan painting was used at the University of Oxford by the Dominican Centre "Las Casas" at Blackfriars Hall.

• A testimony by Marcello on the link between trauma, war and immigration appears in the "Refugee Hosts" project co-ordinated by University College London (UCL).
